The Republic of Panama is located at the southern end of Central America, bordering with Costa Rica to the west and Colombia to the east, and the Atlantic Ocean to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south.

Legal System: is based on the civilian legal system, judicial revision of legislative acts in the Supreme Court.
Languages: Spanish (official), English 14% (however, many Panamanians are fully bilingual)

Ethnic groups: mestizo (mixed Amerindian and white) 70%, Amerindian and mixed (west Indian) 15%, white 10%, Amerindian 6%.
Religions: Roman Catholic 85%, Protestant 15%. There is an absolute freedom of religion in Panama; moreover, you can find all kinds of temples of worship throughout the country.
Climate: Panama has a tropical climate with temperatures around 80 to 90 degrees F. (25 – 30 Celsius) and the humidity is usually high. The dry seasons ranges from December to April and the rainy season from May to the end of the year.
Currency: our monetary unit is the Balboa which has the same and exact value as one US Dollar. Traveler’s checks and all mayor credit cards are widely accepted.
Time zone: the time in Panama all year long is the same as the EST (GMT – 5). We do not observe daylight savings time.
